About Us                                    printer friendly version
The Ruach HaKadosh (Holy Spirit) gently but firmly persuaded us to provide a place where people would come
to celebrate a relationship with Abba--Father, on a journey of Torah observance.  We chose El Shaddai as the
name for our Ministries because there is no doubt he is the GREAT and MIGHTY GOD.  We started as home
group meeting in a living room.  Soon, we outgrew the home setting and held the first official service in January
of 2001 at the Grange Hall in Edgewood WA.  We had less than 20 people attend that first service.

Our assembly is made up of people from all faiths and walks of life that has grown to over 500 people, with
thousands listening in from around the world. Even though the Ruach HaKadosh has guided us to larger
places of worship, we have kept with the same core values.  To those of you who have been with us through
all or parts of the last few years, it's been a wonderful journey indeed.

To those of you visiting and studying with us, welcome!  We
meet for worship, teaching and fellowship from
10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Shabbat.  Once a month we hold an Oneg meal after service, so please join us for
the Oneg (meal) after service, if you should come to visit our congregation that day!  We serve "kosher style
dishes" which means that the food is Biblically clean, for example no predator or scavenger meat like pork,
shellfish, catfish; no jell-o should be served and we observe Torah's dietary laws to the best of our ability.
Technically, "kosher" refers to any
processed food that is processed under rabbinically approved supervision
and is marked as such (a K or U within a circle, a K within a star or Beit).  At home, in the restaurant or cafeteria,
it is then prepared by and served with rabbinically approved methods.
While we do not endorse rabbinically
approved kosher products, we believe that the dietary laws are designed as a call to holiness. Our ability to
distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil, pure and defiled, the sacred and the profane is very
important. When we observe Torah's instruction in choosing what we will and will not eat, we ingrain the kind
of self-control that teaches us how to subdue and overcome our most basic, primal instincts.  Another benefit is
that we cannot eat a meal without being reminded that we are called to holiness because we were bought with
a price and belong to our heavenly Abba--Father.

On Mondays we
meet to study the Torah Club Study Series, where we begin to see Yeshua revealed in
Torah.  So join us Monday nights at 7:00 pm for a thrilling study that will lift the veil, revealing Yeshua within
Genesis through Deuteronomy ...what He called Torah.

Our
Statement of Beliefs defines the core of our beliefs in finer detail.

Pastor Mark
The Power of Kindness and Generosity .

One of the sages wrote this homily:

"Ten strong things have been created in the world
.
.
The rock is hard, but the iron cleaves it.
Iron is hard, but the fire softens it.
Fire is strong, but the water quenches it.
Water is strong, but the clouds bear it.
Clouds are strong, but the wind disperses them.
Wind is strong, but the body bears it.
The body is strong, but fear crushes it.
Fear is strong, but wine banishes it.
Wine is strong, but sleep makes one sober.
And death is stronger than all of these
.

Tsedeka, however, saves one from death."

--as it is written in Proverbs 10:2--
"Tsedeka (Charity, generosity or righteousness)
delivers from death.
